Deep Search for LightBurn

Deep search is particularly powerful with LightBurn files because MakerVault indexes all the embedded content that you’d normally need to open each file individually to find.

When you use deep search (prefix with /), these LightBurn-specific fields are searchable:

ContentExample searchWhat it finds
Text elements/HOMEFiles with “HOME” as a text object
Layer names/TumblersFiles with a layer named “Tumblers”
Cut type/ScanFiles with Scan (engrave) layers
Speed values/300Files with speed set to 300
Power values/85Files with power set to 85%
Font names/ArialFiles using the Arial font
Show notes/acrylicFiles with “acrylic” in their notes

Say you engraved tumblers last month and want to reuse those settings. You know the layer was called “Tumblers” but can’t remember which file it was:

/Tumblers

MakerVault instantly shows you every LightBurn file with a layer named “Tumblers”, along with the cut settings (speed, power, interval) right in the detail panel. No need to open each file in LightBurn to check.

Deep search works with all other filters. For example:

  • /HOME + Tag: “Christmas” = LightBurn files with “HOME” text, tagged Christmas
  • /Scan + Type: “LightBurn” = Only LightBurn files with Scan layers (though deep search already narrows to files with extractable content)
