Deep Search for LightBurn
Deep search is particularly powerful with LightBurn files because MakerVault indexes all the embedded content that you’d normally need to open each file individually to find.
Searchable content
Section titled “Searchable content”When you use deep search (prefix with /), these LightBurn-specific fields are searchable:
| Content | Example search | What it finds |
|---|---|---|
| Text elements | /HOME | Files with “HOME” as a text object |
| Layer names | /Tumblers | Files with a layer named “Tumblers” |
| Cut type | /Scan | Files with Scan (engrave) layers |
| Speed values | /300 | Files with speed set to 300 |
| Power values | /85 | Files with power set to 85% |
| Font names | /Arial | Files using the Arial font |
| Show notes | /acrylic | Files with “acrylic” in their notes |
Real-world example
Section titled “Real-world example”Say you engraved tumblers last month and want to reuse those settings. You know the layer was called “Tumblers” but can’t remember which file it was:
/TumblersMakerVault instantly shows you every LightBurn file with a layer named “Tumblers”, along with the cut settings (speed, power, interval) right in the detail panel. No need to open each file in LightBurn to check.
Combining with filters
Section titled “Combining with filters”Deep search works with all other filters. For example:
/HOME+ Tag: “Christmas” = LightBurn files with “HOME” text, tagged Christmas/Scan+ Type: “LightBurn” = Only LightBurn files with Scan layers (though deep search already narrows to files with extractable content)
