Spacebar Quick Preview
MakerVault’s quick preview works like macOS Quick Look. Select a file and press Space to open a full-screen preview overlay.
How to use it
Section titled “How to use it”- Click a file to select it.
- Press Space to open the preview.
- Press Space or Escape to close it.
What you see
Section titled “What you see”The preview overlay shows:
- File preview — The file rendered natively (for supported types) or a placeholder icon
- Metadata sidebar — Filename, size, type, tags, notes, and embedded metadata
- Open button — “Open in [App]” to launch the file in its default application
Preview modes for LightBurn files
Section titled “Preview modes for LightBurn files”LightBurn files show a segmented toggle in the top-right of the preview overlay:
- Canvas — An interactive SVG canvas rendering the actual cut layers, shapes, and text from the file. Supports pan and zoom.
- PNG — The embedded thumbnail image baked into the file by LightBurn.
- Photo — Shown only when you have uploaded a custom photo for the file.
Opening full-screen preview preserves whichever mode was active in the right sidebar.
Custom photo
Section titled “Custom photo”Any file can have a custom photo (JPEG or PNG) that you upload. Once uploaded, a Photo tab appears in the preview toggle. The photo also appears as the primary thumbnail in grid view.
Inline preview
Section titled “Inline preview”Previewable files also show a smaller inline preview directly in the file detail panel on the right sidebar, so you can see a preview without going full-screen. Double-click the inline preview to open the full-screen overlay.
Supported types
Section titled “Supported types”See Supported Previews for the full list of what renders natively vs. what shows a placeholder.
